Nagual

Released in 1977, this was originally a score for a creation by American dancer/choreographer Carolyn Carlson (“This, That and The Other”, for the Groupe de recherche Théâtrale de l'Opéra de Paris).
Inspired by Carlos Castaneda’s writings and following the otherworldly steps of its predecessor (Les Fous D'Or), Nagual is another mysterious and intriguing statement of musical esoterica, albeit more calm and relaxed: a collection of twelve musical vignettes covering a wide range of style from majestic electronic pieces to echo-drenched concrete-like sketches via impressionistic piano compositions.
A bewitching musical journey, built around Wakhevitch’s keys where electronics give way to more acoustic sonorities (piano, harp). A truly outstanding and magical record!
